Environment

This is our world.

It’s the only one we’ve got.

We love it.

And we’re committed to caring for it.

Our approach to caring for our world.

Our approach is to source our materials as locally as possible, using primarily North American materials.

To use sustainable practices and sustainable materials at every opportunity.

To use premium quality components that will last for decades rather than falling apart and becoming landfill.

To create timeless designs that won’t need to be frequently replaced because they went out of style.

To highlight natural materials, so when you’re among our products, you’re always a little bit closer to nature.

And caring for your own interior world.

We also consider the interior environment - your own private world within your home.

We make sure it’s a healthy and happy place for you.

All of our products don’t just meet, but vastly exceed California Air Resource Board’s “CARB2” guidelines.

We use simple, inert white glue, the same stuff we trust around our kindergarteners (knowing they will undoubtedly put it in their mouths) as opposed to common used carcinogenic binders that will off-gas in your home for 7 YEARS.

We keep the air in your home clean, so you can breath easy.

A commitment to transparency

We make our best effort to get you the highest quality, safest and healthiest product for your home.

We can’t always do it perfectly - the lumber sourcing world is tricky and obscure, and many of the certification programs out there are riddled with holes and information gaps.

So we make our commitment to transparency. We’ll tell you everything we can, anything you want to know, about any part of any product you want to know about, to the deepest level of detail we can possibly give you, so you can make fully informed choices.

A passion for innovative materials

We’re excited by cutting edge materials, especially those that fly under the radar.

Laminates first popped up in the mid-century, but the simple, chemically inert combination of resins and paper make for a mindblowingly durable product that will massively outlast any solid wood or veneer.

Particle board is another wonderful material with a bad rep from decades of low quality product - but we’ve found a fanatically rich, durable, beautiful board made of recycled wood to create a luxurious core at the heart of our cabinets.

Speaking of things that are laminated, we also love plywood, another innovative approach to using less wood while creating a much stronger product. We love to show off its pleasing layers in our doors and panels.
